I just replaced the crappy factory Bose Speakers in my Nissan 350Z. Tweeter and door speakers... That hissy, metallic sounding noise I was getting with all the highs is now gone...

I have to tell you, XM never sounded so good..... It really is clear digital audio....!!!

A 350Z AND XM radio? You lucky son-of-a-b*tch.:D

So how are you getting XM radio? Did you go with a Delphi SkiFi setup or has Nissan finnaly gotten around to getting the SAT button on their 2003's to work?

:emoji_thumbsup:

Glad you got the Bose junk out.. I sure would like to know
HOW Bose convinces GM to put this crap in the Vette's and
the same goes to Nissan and Mazda and quite a few others.

Nice convinient location for the Sky-Fi in that Nav cubby
hole. :)

Steve, Nice set up. I was also wondering something kind of about XM. When you changed out your head unit, did you lose control of the steering wheel controls that your factory stereo had, like volume and back/forward? I just not sure how that works.

soundgate makes an adapter that allows you to keep the radio steering wheel controls you lose when you put in a aftermarket deck

Yes,

Automatic, but it's sportronic... I can pseudo shift with no clutch... I do alot of local stop and go driving, and didn't want the hassle...

Steve,

I agree with you.. When I bought my 2K Vette I went with the
6 Speed ($1500.00 option) and wish I would have went with
the automatic like my previous other two Vette's were. I
won't drive it to work for the very same reason of stop and
go traffic (it bites).

I hope with the C6 they offer a Paddle Shifted 5 Speed Auto
(I am fairly certain they are..) if they do I will be all
over it! :)

You know what, the 350z is so fast, that the auto really doesn't slow the car down... Like I said, the Sportronic shifter is there.... If I really need to move.. I have tested my car at 0-60 in 5.5 seconds so the auto is just fine...
I test drove the 2003 C5 in auto 3 months back, and beleive me, these cars with 300+ ponies move....

Yep they do.. My 1995 Corvette Coupe Auto that had 3.07
gears (BARF) ran 13.6's and had I stuck around and clicked
off more passes at the strip I am certain would have broken
into the 13.3's.

My Y2K will run 12.89-12.90's the Auto is only a few tenths
slower stock vs. stock but take that auto and slap in a 3.73
gear with a Super Yank 2800 Stall Converter and BFG Drag
Radials and the auto will walk all over a 6 speed car at the
strip. Auto's cars with that setup are running in the solid
mid 12's :)

Post some pics of your Z!
