The more scary thing to me in that article is that Frances McDormand is doing a nude scene in a movie with kate Beckinsale... Shoudln't it be the other way around?

Well Kathy Bates got plaudits from the most militant feminists for the hot tub scene in About Schmidt. Nothing against Ms. Bates, who is a great actress and up and coming director, but McDormand is a babe in comparison. In fact, I think quite appealing.

The article got it wrong. The movie was released in February in NY and LA, and it already came here and left. I don't recall a nude scene, but the movie didn't make much of an impression on me anyways...

Val Kilmer is so desperate to restart his stalled film career that he’s spending $100,000 of his own money to publish a book to promote his latest flick.
I didn't realizeit was stalled. I liked Val's work quite a bit in The Salton Sea.

I think he meant Blockbuster status. Val had the chance to do big time hollywood movies after Batman Forever, but instead he chose for roles that had good scripts and good characters. Those are the movies that make the less money and get a lot less notice.

I agree that it would be nice to see a Val Kilmer Career Resurgence. (I also agree that The Salton Sea is a rather entertaining movie, much moreso than I expected!)

I remember reading (or hearing in a commentary somewhere) that Val was quite the little on-set prima donna back in the day; a reputation that certainly doesn't help when one is trying to forge a career comeback.

Here's hoping he finds himself some successes soon. He's an inconsistent performer, but for the most part I am a fan.
