Looking for a great DVD-A recording of the Ninth. Heard Barenboim. Still looking.

Any suggestions?

If there is another one out there, then I'd like to know about it too.
In the mean time I listen to the Barenboim version.

I would also be interested in a better performance of Beethoven's 9th on either high-resolution format. Barenboim's performance is rather flat, IMO. The best performance I've heard is one conducted by Bruno that was recorded in the late 1950's.

There is a well recorded version by Maximiano Cobra on Hodie. However, the interpretation is idiosyncratic to say the least as he performs the work around twice as slow as most other versions.

I believe you can listen to exercpts on the website at www.hodie-world.com
