Am I the only one who thinks it's a little late for a spoof of this genre? I mean, the whole Merchant Ivory heyday was in the mid-Nineties - this thing's at least five years too late...

So do lots of teen comedies, but their hey-day was a few years ago. It'd look odd to parody that genre now that it's cooled. That's my take on a Merchant-Ivory spoof - sure, that kind of flick still exists, but it's not nearly as prominent as it was in the Nineties...
