Can anyone tell me what a good price would be for a Sony 1272 in mint condition ? 3000 USD?

I don't think a 1272Q would command anywhere near $3000. You should post your question in the CRT Projector Forum at www.avsforum.com. No offense to the members here but you'll get a more informed response there.

$2k plus or minus would be more reasonable. if you're buying, look at AVS for Curt Palme and get on his mailing list. he is very trustworthy, under rates his products and sells for a fair price. even if you don't buy from him, it'll give you an idea of what crt pj's are going for.
