Rotel 985 or Sony N9000ES?

Wanting to Bi-Amp Front 3 speakers!

Any recommendations?

Both seem to be available (used) in my price range

Thanks.

Oh, I forgot to add, I have a Sony Da3ES now, and Da4ES on order so S-link for the Da3 or triggers on the Da4 would be nice for remote activation (I am leaning toward the N9000)

But opinions on others would be appreciated!

The Legato Linear amp in SONY is pretty good but Rotel has better sound.

You might also want to consider a nice 3 channel amp used: Acurus 200x3, Parasound 2003, Rotel 993, Adcom 5503, Denon poa8300, etc.

My opinion without ever hearing the Rotel would be- The TAN-9000es would probably be better for home theater. My reasoning for this is my current use of dual Aragons driving a 777es in a 5.1 setup. the 777 and 9000 have much in common. Unless you can hear both or someone else here has used both, I wouldn't chance it woth the Rotel. On the other side of the coin, many people on this forum seem to be using the Rotel to great effect. If you must buy blind, using only someone elses reccomendation, you might consider price. The least expensive of the two should serve your intended purpose nicely and at the same time save you a few bucks. Best of luck , Jack
