My father-in-law has an Infocus LP350 projector that is supposed to display HDTV signals input through its DVI port. I just found out that Comcast (at least in Nashville,TN) will lease an HD cable box for $5 per month and that the local HD channels are free with basic cable. The gentleman I spoke with said that the boxes all have component outputs and that a few of them have a working DVI output but that most of the DVI's are dummy ports. I have found a place online to buy a DVI-A to component cable for about $30 but I am wondering how much signal degredation there might be, not keeping it in the digital domain as long as possible. Can anyone help?
