I just got a 7.1 receiver and bought Paradigm ADP-170 (2 pairs) for the rear and surround. The house I am moving into has a lot of wall space in the living room, which is good. The only negative is that the left wall will be further away from the central seating area than the right wall.

I am mounting the rear speakers on the rear wall, so that will not really be an issue. The side surround speakers will be exactly to the left and right of the central seating area. The problem is the right side speaker will be about 6 feet away, while the left side speaker is about 12 feet away.

How much of an issue will this be? I bought an Onkyo TX-NR900 receiver. Maybe it has calibration for speaker distance? Any input would be appreciated.

As long as you calibrate your system the different distances should not be a real issue. On the receiver set the distance of each speaker from the seating position and then calibrate with Avia, Sound and Vision HT, or Video Essentials. You will then be good to go.
