Denon AVC-3000 - Any good? (1 Viewer)

I saw one for sale $200, any thoughts about how good this is? I'm looking for a high-end amplifier under $500 used... only need 80 watts max, 8 ohm speakers

I have some old Audio magazine equipment guides. I found the AVC-3000 listed in the October 1990 issue.

It is an integrated, Dolby Pro Logic, 5 channel amp. It is listed as 80 watts/ch for the front L & R and 35 watts/ch for the center and surrounds. It listed for $1000.

It was a decent unit in it's day. But it's day, IMO, is past. Unless this is for background music in the garage, I would not buy it. It can't be worth more than $50 to $100 on a good day. Certainly not worth $200 under any circumstances.

Besides, this is not an add-on type of unit. It is a receiver without the tuner.
