I just got a new receiver because my old one went out on me. I've heard for years now that you shouldn't throw computers in the trash because of materials in the metal that can get in ground water. Is that true for receivers as well? If so what should I do with it?

Drop it off at a repair shop and they could fix it and sell it, at least it won't go in the garbage.
