Just bought one for $849 and have 30 days to return.. Did I mess up and should I take it back?

I'll be using it ot transfer a huge pile of VHS home movies to DVD-R.

HELP!!!!!!

You might want to consider taking it back and picking up a panasonic dmr-e30. They can be had on ebay as low as $325 or yahoo shopping around $400. It's also a pretty good progressive scan player as well. Time-slip technology lets you watch and record at the same time.
