Just started looking at these speakers. search is down so i cannot research esaier here. Anyone own, running these? I answered their home theater wizard and they suggested the following setup: Front speakers...M3 Center speaker...VP100 Surrounds..QS4
Subwoofer...EP125, I also liked their stands QSS4.
This package came with a price of $1248 inclusive.
Is this a good brand/buy? This is my first step, I would then need to pair this with a receiver. How is the Onkyo TX-SR700. I liked this type because it offers the second zone. Or the Denon AVR-2803?
I am a novice and this is my first dive into Home Theater. I would be using this in a small room approx 13 X 13. I have been reading but it all starts to become repetitive and confusing. I researched pricing on the receivers from a mention of Elegant audio on this forum. Anyone deal with them also? Are they reputable? Their prices are very well below what I have seen in the stores, almost 2-300 less.
Anyone help me out? Really Confused here!!!!!

Dave,

For the equipment you have chosen, you definitely did not do anything "wrong"....all good equipment manufacturers, and the models you have chosen have all gotten great reviews.

As for Elegant Audio.....I have not dealt with them.

Other speaker companies you may want to look at are:

www.aperionaudio.com
www.ascendacoustics.com

Aperion has one edge on the others....while the others all offer 30-45 day trials, Aperion even pays for shipping of the return.

Sound wise...all have their own characteristics, and all have gotten great reviews.

Don't rack your brain too much, you can read all you want.....but you have to hear stuff before you are happy. Good Luck!

Check the HT for sale forum, too, as I believe someone is selling a nice little axiom bundle (not me). Just happened to see it there, though.

If you're picking up the Axiom set-up i'll suggest you pair it with the Denon reciever. I have the Axiom M60 run by Denon 3801 and I can't be happier.

Love my M22, VP150, QS4s powered by an HK525. Check the Axiom Message board too. Some stereo shop in Canada was selling a few different new Axioms for cheap. Clearing inventory. Plus don't forget to check out the factory outlet. I've bought all my Axioms from the factory outlet (%10 to %20 off) and the only blemish I found was a very slight scratch ON THE BOTTOM of my center channel speaker. To get to the factory outlet, go to the Axiom site under "Store" and click on the factory outlet.

Here's an image from their website, if it works:

Just from eyeball, their +/- 3dB range appears to be about 150Hz-18KHz. While not Acoustimass terrible, certainly not the most impressive measurements I've ever seen. But maybe they sound better than they measure?

It looks like their +/-2dB measurement would be either 200Hz-2KHz or maybe 4KHz-16KHz? A couple of dB's of padding on the tweeter might extend that across most of the range of the speaker, at the expense of further cutting the high end off.

I bought the same axiom speakers that you are looking at and couldn't be happier with them except for the sub. This sub just does not do the job. All the other speakers sound great. I would buy a bigger, better, and cheaper sub for the same price. I wish I would have built my own for the same price as the sub.
