Just wondering which sub you would pick since both can be had used for 300-350. I had the ps-1000 and enjoyed it, and haven't heard the polk, so just looking for some opinions. Any other subs in this price range that sound better? Thanks in advance

Yeah, I saw that Ray. Can you tell me how it performs on music? I've read in a couple of places where the 1000 outperforms it for music. We're probably 60 music 40 ht. Any Polk owners want to chime in?

The PS series subs are not the best for music. They perform better for HT. While they are great subs for the price, they have good extension at good SPLs, they can be a bit boomy. I have a PS-1000, and it does great for HT, but for music I see room for improvement. But at the price point I don't know you may not find much better. Placement in your room can make a big difference. I have tamed mine down through better placement, and i am considering a BFD to level it out a bit, so I wouldn't rule it out. I have not heard the Polk, so I can not comment on that sub.
The only way to safely double your money is to fold it over once and place it back in your pocket.

Mine was a bit boomy until I calibrated it, I had the sub volume wayyyy to high. I have never heard the PS-1000, I would say I am about 80/20 HT/Music. --ray
