Hey all, I'm running cable internet here at my house and currently have a router hooked up to my X-Box for online play. My mom has a Mac and desperately wants to hook up to my cable connection for the speed and 24/7 instant access. I'm figuring I can hook her up through my router but I'm not sure. The Mac is running Mac OS 9 and it has a built in ethernet port already. Would it be possible to just plug my router in to the ethernet port and make it run off of my connection? Thanks.

Yes. All you need to do is configure the Ethernet to use DHCP, or "get IP address automatically" or whatever they call it on OS 9. Your router is providing DHCP, right?
