Dave,
no way was this a personal attack on you
I appreciate all you do in bringing the 'Weekly Roundup' info to this forum
Just wanted to make sure the facts were stated as clear as possible

1) none of the audio (profanity included) is bleeped out
2) nothing is compromised when it comes to blurring ...3 incidents: 2 most likely related to legal release issues and the third involving the genetalia of one of the hosts of the show
3) when people complaining about 'censorship' actually pick up and view this set themselves they will see they are making much to do about nothing.

again Dave, no need to appologize...
I may have read your statement the wrong way in that is sounded like you already had the set since your disclaimer was very descriptive (down to the 'goodies' under the packaging Posted Image ) and I did not want people to continue to falsely believe they were being cheated out of something here.

ps. I own the R1 version of "Eyes Wide Shut" Posted Image

[quote] By the way, does anybody know who the new hosts of the show are? [quote] Stand-up comedian Joe Rogan (of NewsRadio and Fear Factor) is one of the hosts. Don't know about the other, though.

Edit: Why didn't I think of this earlier? A check of www.themanshow.com shows Doug Stanhope as Rogan's co-host.

I want to see it how the audience sees it, uncensored. I can understand if some of the nudity is blurred out due to contract issues or wavers that didn't get signed, but there has to be some T&A on the DVD's.

It's called "The Man Show" for crying out loud, not "The Boy Show". TV-14? Come on, make it R and give us MEN what we want, full frontal, uncensored nudity and cursing.

I'm with ya Darrell! Making us feel like perverts because we don't like the censored nudity is a bizarre argument to make. The target audience for this show is mostly perverted men who want to see nude women. Are there really people who buy this set, and then get offended by uncensored nudity???? And who cares if its original tv broadcast was 'censored'...I highly doubt that there are many out there that don't have a "Directors Cut" of somethings somewhere in their DVD collection.

Maybe they should give the dvd a new title:

It may be the case that there really isn't much to blur out in this release, and it's nothing we might want to see anyway, but I know from watching the show that there's plenty of times that good stuff is being blurred out, and I tell you, I don't think they're wearing little patches when they tape it. Nor do I think the girls they get to come and strip in the studio usually get much choice over whether it can ever be released in any other form. Those network and studio contracts tend to be pretty iron-clad in the studios favor with complete control maintained over the footage. It is probably released at their discretion. I would specifically be disappointed if something like the Invisible Bathing Suit were still blurred, whenever the set with that is released.
Have you ever heard of Vietnam, Larry?

Hopefully by the time they get to this last season, they will be uncensored. How bout that episode where Jimmy was a Playboy photographer? Now that deserves to be on DVD UNCENSORED.

[quote] Episode 106 ...Adam's privates are blurred out when he gets naked in front of his mom on the beach in the night of romance with mom segment [quote]

Right before the blur goes up you can tell that he's wearing something so its not "censorship" it was obviously the intention.

But there is also some blurring during the second part of the girls jumping on trampolines extra footage that has 4 juggy girls completely nude (apparently).

None of the shows on this disc are censored!

I was trying to find this today. Went to Costco and C.C. and nothing. First Midnight Run is impossible to find and now this. Any one know where they have plentiful copies of this?

Will, Best Buy has it advertised in this week's circular, so they should have at least a few copies at each of their stores (assuming they haven't sold out yet). Also, FYE would probably be a good place to check if you have one by you and don't mind paying more for it.

KERIST PEOPLE. I compared the DVD's to the original broadcasts (that I had archived on SVCD before I got a DVD-Recorder).. NOTHING HAS BEEN 'CENSORED' FROM THE ORIGINAL BROADCAST. Same private parts blurred/pixelated out. Was was 'obscured then is obscured now'. No where on the box does it say UNCENSORED (see: Insomniac). As, as I saw questioned somewhere else, in 'Bets/Zembic' the guy with the breast implants were NOT blurred on the orginal broadcast, they had round band-aids over the nipples (why is is offensive to show a man's nipples???)

I bought the set anyway, because I enjoy the show.

[quote] NOTHING HAS BEEN 'CENSORED' FROM THE ORIGINAL BROADCAST. [quote]I think everyone realizes this, we realize it's exactly the way it was shown on tv. This is why we are complaining. We just thought it would be nice to have an available set without the blurred out nudity.

Again, you'd think a show like "The MAN Show" (in DVD format) would have the freedom to give men what they want...NUDITY! I would highly doubt that there are men out there that would buy this set and be glad the nudity is blurred...Are there really guys who wouldn't be embarrassed to purchase this set, yet be embarrassed with the nudity??? Posted Image

It would be just like LOTR:TT not coming out with an Extended Edition. The Extended Editions were NOT the editions that were seen in theaters, but it's nice to be able to have this version out.

If you want The Man Show as it was on tv, then fine, but if ANYTHING screams to have the blurred out nudity removed, this is the one!

This is a bad analogy. Because the Man Show DVD set does offer extra footage on the bonus discs. A more correct comparison would be to arguing for an edition of Fellowship were they would remove the Cave Troll's rag that covers up his package. It's there in all the CGI tests, yet it the film they cover it up. Because it's a matter of taste.

Yes, it is called the "MAN" show, not the "PORN" show. Are you watching it for the comedy, or for the boobs?

Also, I think a lot of you are taking the premise of the show a little too seriously. Most of the things Jimmy and Adam do and say are satirical in nature. Both of them are married. You think they could/would if they supported these beliefs all these years?

I'm not trying to put anybody down, but seriously, this thread has become quite stupid. Let's just move on.

Please don't start spreading morals around in a thread about a show that pretty much degrades guys morals to begin with.

Please. There are women who love this show. You can see them in the audience, you can even find them in your working environment. IT'S JUST A COMEDY SHOW. Not a battle flag for putting down females.

No argument required. A movie with boobs is better than the same show without boobs. nuff said, although there are a few exceptions when showing boobs would just be nasty!
