I am looking at the Pioneer Elite Pro530HD. It has 2 DVI input's but I just found out that Pioneer's DVI input does not support 720p, only 480p and 1080i. However the 530HD's component video input will support all 3, 480p..720p..1080i. I also noticed that the DVI input on the Sony is similiar and looking through Mitsu's site do not see support for 720p through any connection. So what is up with this?? Does any RPTV's DVI input support 720P??

The Elite accepts 720P through the DVI input, but is upconverted to 1080i. So it will accept it, but it does not display it natively. To my knowledge, and I could be wrong on this, but I don't believe there are any RPTV's that display native 720p, they all upconvert. On the other hand, I have an Elite 530, and it is a fantastic set, highly recommend.

Greg,

just a slight clarification on RPTVs. CRT based TVs won't display 720p natively but DLP/LCD (rear and front projection) and Plasma TVs are generally 720 anyway so they display it outright and convert 1080i down to 720.
