Hey

I have bought ROTEL RMB 1075 (will recieve it in a few days), and i was going to connect it to a Yamaha RXV-1300.But i can get 966 for about $600 new.Do you think this is a good buy, or should i use the 1300 as the decoder? I was planning to buy the 1066, but it will take a while before i can buy it, so is the 966 a good buy or not vs the decoder in the 1300? I don't care so much about the 6.1/7, because i don't have a lot of movies who supports this.

Almost forgot, how old is the 966?

Thanks for the help!

regards

I believe you are referring to the RSP-976, and not 966. The 976 is basically just an outdated 1066...it lacks DPL2, 7.1 capability, 5 channel stereo. Other than that you'd be hard pressed to tell a difference between the two(sound quality). The 976 would be quite an improvement over the Yammy, IMO.

I'd pass on that and get the 1055 instead since its cheaper then the 1066 and sounds VERY similar when used as a pre amp..plus it comes with a tuner.
