Its the Samsung TXN2771HFX. It says that the Pro Chip Plus converts all analog signals to 480p or progressive scan. So do I need to buy a progressive scan DVD player? Would my current interlaced player give me the same picture quality as a progressive scan player? This TV also has 3:2 pulldown so thats not a problem.

Not necessary but....

Would my current interlaced player give me the same picture quality as a progressive scan player?
You may notice small artifacts using a 480i DVD player like shimmer in the subtitles, and interaction in an image that contains small parallel lines spaced closely together, etc. Mind you, you would have to look closely to see it, despite the conversion that takes place.
