I thought it'd be interesting to have a listing of your favourite directors with their best dvd (combination of movie, A/V presentation, supplements). Director must have made a minimum of 3 movies. I'll start if off:

Kurosawa (seven samurai, Criterion Collection)

Hitchcock (Notorious, Criterion Collection)

Lean (Lawrence of Arabia LE)

Fincher (Fight Club SE)

Lynch (Blue Velvet SE)

Wes Anderson (Rushmore, Criterion Collection)

PT Anderson (Magnolia)

Kubrick (Dr. Strangelove, SE)

Fellini (8 1/2, Criterion Collection)

Cameron (T2, Ultimate Edition)

Jackson (Fellowship of the Ring, Extended Edition)

Lang (Metropolis, Kino restored edition)

Gilliam (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Criterion Collection)

Miyazaki (Spirited Away)

Welles (Citizen Kane)

Romero (Night of the Living Dead, ME)

Lee (Do the Right Thing, Criterion Collection)

Burton (Sleepy Hollow)

Egoyan (Sweet Hereafter)

Nolan (Memento)

Crowe (Almost Famous, Bootlegers)

Tarantino (Pulp Fiction SE)

R. Scott (Alien)

Bergman (Wild Strawberries, Criterion Collection)
