$279 with free shipping at ecost. Just thought I'd post it for all those people that can't afford receivers over $300 & want the most bang for their buck. This receiver got some good reviews & S&V Mag. rated it at 92 watts per channel with all 6 channels driven.

A friend of mine picked one up for $230 at BB yesterday. They were out of boxed ones, so he convinced them to sell him the floor modeal for $230, which is cheaper than a new 6050. He got a heck of a deal.

Just bought 1 off of Ecost.com. I think there is maybe 5 left. Heck of a deal for this receiver $269 shipped. Yes its Refurb but they sometimes work better then the Brand New Ones. Thanks for the find.

I guess it just goes to show you the markup that must exist on these receivers, when you can get them for half price when the new models start to come out. How can anyone possibly be making a profit on these at $269 shipped?

Steve, congrats on your new receiver & post a follow up on what you think of it & the "Refurb" contition.

Rob, Remember these were receiver's that were returned to Kenwood for repair not "new" ones & I'll bet that ecost paid only around $200 for them.

True...and after doing a little research it looks like ecost adds some hidden 'handling' charges which kind of negates the free shipping and they only have a 90 day warranty I believe. Makes the BB ones look pretty good. Still not a bad deal for those with only $300 to spend.

No handling charge involved at all. The prices was $279 though not $269 but no shipping or handling. And if you can still find one at BB god bless you because I have been to 3 stores and they are discontinued.

Just got my Receiver and have hooked it up and thumbs up to Ecost. Double Boxed and Received like it was a Brand New Unit. Everything looks Brand New and no Refurb Stamp on the Back. I'll tell you what for $279 shipped this might be the steal of the century. By the way I have had Pioneer Elite VSX-43TX, Denon AVR-3802, and Onkyo TX-DS797 hooked up over the last 6 month and this baby is just as good at $279.

Steve, Did the box have any markings on it about being a refurb? Maybe you lucked out & the order picker gave you a new one by mistake. Most refurbs usually only come with a 90 day warranty though, so that would be one way to tell if it was a refurb. But all the refurb's I've ever bought have had clear markings on the box. Anyway good luck & I'm glad your happy with your new receiver. Myself I've always had good luck with refurb's & I would buy them again if the price was right, like on the Kenwood :D

Yo Steve!
BTW, how would you compare the Pioneer, Onkyo and Denon to each other?

It was definately a refurb, it says tested 2 times on the back. I personally like refurbs, you know they have been looked over a few times. As far as the Pioneer Elite, Denon or Onkyo. I thought the Pioneer Elite was the best of that bunch.
