I am interested in putting some bass shakers in my couch. I have a old prologic JVC receiver that does not have a sub out on it. Can I still use this? Thanks

Go ahead and try it......it just might do a great job. Just feed the lfe signal from your ht receiver into an input of the JVC......then hook the shakers to the speaker output. You can even split the lfe signal (again) and feed a left and right input and use 2 speaker lines if you wish but keep in mind the ohm load. I actually used this method to drive 2 pair of shakers for a while and eventually went to a cheap sub amp from parts express.
