Quick question about progressive & 3:2 pulldown (1 Viewer)

Been a long time since I posted here so be gentle about my, somewhat "simple" question.

I have a 36" Toshiba with component inputs. I am looking into a new Sony DVD player that does progressive and 3:2 pulldown in anticipation of, eventually, upgrading my display.

My question is this: Would I see any difference (in regards to 3:2 pulldown & progressive scan) on my current TV by connecting it via component inputs witn the new Sony DVD player?

It sounds like your TV is a basic model and not HD-capable. If that's the case, the answer is no.
