Hello all,
Upon doing a search for threads about Red Faction already and not finding any, I figured I'd start one myself. I just bought it today (having rented it first of course) and am very happy with it. I never played the originol so the story is a little confusing, but it doesn't bother me.
I'm not much of a gamer personally, I only own a couple games (all first-person shooters), but I was curious to hear feedback from real gamers.
Thanks.

I just got this game yesterday for $15 and I think it's pretty good. It's not up there with the elites, but it's right below. I like the dual pistols that fire with the L1 and R1 buttons, they make me feel all gangsta. It's much better than I'd expect out of a PS2 FPS.

Yeah, you can tell that it's a port from the PS2 version. The frame-rate seems a little slow at times, but the multi-player makes it worth it. My favourite course is Fall Factor with all 4 bots on death match mode. Great Fun!!:D

I'm going to have to withdraw my recommendation on this game unless it can be found for less than $20. I finished the single player mode in under 4 hours, and the geo mod was implemented even more poorly than in RF1.

Now you can pretty much only blow up the wall in set locations where they have decided you need to blow a hole to advance, and it all feels very scripted. It's sad too, because while the first had plenty of rock to tunnel through but hardly any explosives, this one is loaded with high power weapons but the walls are mostly indestructible.
