Does anyone know any good sub projects or places to get parts in the UK?

I could understand your quest, as it's nice to find a local retailer and avoid high shipping costs and duties. There are actually quite a few European manufacturers of speaker components and checking their web sites should lead you to a couple of local retailers. These include (makers of tweeters, mids, and woofers):

ATC made in England
Audax made in France
AudioTechnology made in Denmark
Eton made in Germany
LPG made in Germany
Morel made in Israel
PEERLESS made in Denmark
SCANSPEAK made in Denmark
SEAS made in Norway
VIFA made in Denmark., VISATON
Visaton made in Germany
VOLT loudspeakers made in England (used in REL subs)

Someone had sent me a link to a European retailer at http://www.diyparadiso.com/ but I really don't know much about them apart from they sell Peerless, Focal, Visaton, Audax, etc...

Unfortunately a lot of the talk on these forums is about North American made drivers simply because of their availability and cost locally. You could do as well (probably even better) with some of the European manufacturers.

Hope it's of some help...
Rob.

Hi bk elec do have some goos stuff for DIY.

In the UK (BK ELEC) there is a very good driver to look at is the "Eminence LAB 12" it is good compertition to the AdireAudio Shiva.

It sells for £127.

This would my first choice in the UK.

You may want to check the DIY section in www.avforums.com they have a few threads about the Lab 12.
