I finally got up the nerve to ask my wife if we could get a 42" wide-screen TV and she said yes. I was so afraid that she would come up with some perfectly logical reason why we shouldn't buy one but all she said was "you hardly ever ask for anything so go ahead.

I have settled on a Mits WT42311 after doing much research and reading of threads in this forum. The price is in our range, it fits perfectly and my dealer has an authorized ISF technician on staff. Coupled with no interest, no payments financing it was a no brainer.

I can hardly wait until this weekend when we can go make the purchase.

Congrats! :emoji_thumbsup:

Make sure to get something for your wife too! Maybe a few of her favorite movies on DVD and some flowers and/or a day off from the house chores, etc. :D Gotta work up towards the next upgrade afterall: a prog scan player and some sort of setup for HD programming perhaps.

Enjoy, and welcome to the club! :D

Sounds like you got a good one(wife) too. The other day my wife and I were sitting in the living room and she said I think before we do anything else we need new surround sound speakers. We have been wanting a new bedrrom suit for many months so when she said that I was like Huuuunnnh. You're joking right she said no ours are to big. So we are looking at the energy take 5.2. So we went looking and came home with a new receiver. Have fun with your new TV.

Jim your a lucky man. When I wanted my 47" she said "NO, not until I get a horse". Left it for 24hrs and asked again, this time explaining to her the deal with the set. She broke down and said go ahead. Suprised she was when I actually did it and it showed up 3 days later.

I went and got my Mits today and they should be delivering it this weekend. I got a great deal. The Mits was discounted to $1479 so I also got a service agreement for it. The total with delivery and stand was $1880. I think I did quite well. Now I am going to have to watch all of my DVDs all over again on this new screen.

I just purchased a Mits 48-511 (got a great deal, I think). I'm moving into a new place with my gf and she was pretty supportive of anything under 50 inches. We're having it delivered a day or two after we move into our new place and we're both pretty happy looking forward to it. I count myself among the lucky ones as well! (She even encouraged me to get the integrated set rather than the 311 series without a tuner).

PS - Sadly, still 3+ weeks until the delivery!
