Is the only difference between the 43tx and the 45tx the manual instead of auto MCAAC?

And for the price of the 43tx, what other recievers out there are comparable to it? Would you suggest a 43tx in that price range? ($600-$800)

35% music/65% dvd or tv. If it helps, a new dvd player is in my future, but it won't be anything super fancy, just something to get me through until I get a real job and not an internship.

Basically, I am just looking for a list of recievers comparable to the 43tx to go audition.

Yes Naraj,
I beleive the only difference is the AUTO MCACC. (from what I've read it is well worth the extra money)

As far as other receivers go, here is a short list of what others usually cross shop.

Harman Kardon avr525. 725 street price (refurb'd 499 from onecall.com)
Denon 3803
Onkyo ___600 or 800
Sony DA4ES (can be had for 600 I beleive)
Marantz sr7300
Yamaha (have no idea about model)
Nad T752
See

this thread at AVRforum for a great comparison of sub-1k receivers.

Basically it boils down to the features you want.

Hope any of that bambling helped

Hey Chris,

Thanks for the reply. I think I am starting to re-think getting a reciever at that price now. Probably will want to stay below $500... I just have to think about what features I need to do away with.

DTS 96/24 is out... MCACC is out... At the very minimum I was to have DTS-ES and DPII (or some equivilent of it like Neo6). Any suggestions for this? Maybe a 41tx? But I hear those aren't any better than the 811's... Hmm... Back to the drawing board.

500 bones will get you alot with the HK 525. You can pick up a factory remanufactured one form onecall, and it carries the same warranty as the new ones do. Many people have done business through onecall and have been very pleased (authorized dealer).

Some of the features off the top of my head:
Triple crossover
Logic7!!!
Bass management for dvd-a/sacd
All the latest formats
70x7 wpc (HK always meets their ratings...they are conservative)

Also, you might want to check out the new pioneer model D912k. Has an MSRP of 475, but you can find it much cheaper. On ebay, for example, you can pick one up for 310.
110 x 6 wpc, auto MCACC, all the latest formats supported.
Should be killer for that price.
Check it out here , the bottom of page 5 is where someone actually got one and started reviewing and giving its features. Enjoy.

Best of Luck,
Chris
