After a couple of weeks of bliss with my new Kenwood VR-6060, I have noticed something a little troublesome. It is either the Kenwood or my newbie wiring, but I'm not sure which. Whenever any particularly high pitched dialogue graces my center channel, their is sort of a hum/crackle to it. My best example so far is in Spider-Man when Peter Parker is about to enter the ring to face Randy Savage, the wrestler who just got pummeled by Savage screams "I can't feel my leeeeggs!". It happens on discs other than Spider-Man, mind you, but that is just my best example. Ed Norton's more nasally dialogue in Red Dragon causes this as well.
I have tried multiple speakers, and 2 different (cheapo brand)speaker wires (put into the binding posts the old fashioned way...would banana plugs help?), but still it persists. The center channel as a whole also sounds a bit subdued compared to the rest. Does this sound like a Kenwood issue, wiring issue, or a you need to tweak thing a little bit issue? I am about to run DVD Essentials tonight in the case that it might just be a settings problem.
