This thread is to test Dana Filhart's Film Tracker for the 2003 film list thread in the movie forums, there'll probably be a lot of tables and other things tested here to see if they work correctly. I figure those of us testing this, can try out their lists here, and then post below them with any problems they see in it that Dana or someone else could fix (I can't code at all so I"m totally lost at fixing the stuff). Hi! I'm nearly done at revamping the stylesheet process, so instead of ME having to manually build one for each new person, there will be a Build-Your-Own-Stylesheet feature, and with it you can manage the way you want your own output to appear. I'm sure there will be some things I'll miss (or won't work) on the first go-round, but hopefully there will be enough functionality in it to be useful for most members. When everything is ready, and when I get a domain name, I'll post the results. Thanks to Adam_S, Colin Hartnett, Jason Whyte, and Scott Weinberg for helping me test the tool!

some bugs: there are a couple places where the font is too big. numbers on the final list. the non 2003 by rank listing is still listing all films whether they are first time views or not Last statistic is missing. other than that its looking pretty good. Adam

I'll look into the font-size thing; I fixed a couple others including the two percentage problems, the numbering problem with the Film List, and I've added a second filter so you can additionally filter out all but seen-first-time.

The bugfixes won't be reflected on the site until tonight when I get home from work in Boston.

Thanks for the feedback!

Good enough for me that I'll be replacing my old fashioned list in the 2003 list, though there are still a couple bugs.

the ½ is missing from the initial ratings legend.

I'd like the couriernew still smaller, but if it can't be done that's okay.

The last statistic is calculating wrong:
the two statistics are different, the first one is to show me how many movies I saw on average (per day) throughout the month. The second is to show me how many days, on average, I missed throughout the month. They're not just opposite statistics. So the first one is accurate it should be the number of films saw divided by the number of days in the month.

The second one should be the number of days missed divided by the number of days in the month.

[quote] Percentage of days movies were seen (#movies/#days):

80.645% of days missed in January

71.429% of days missed in February
[quote] there should be no 'missed' just 'of days in'

Could you give me the numbers for both the #-missed-days and the final percentage? I get what is listed above, so the percentage looks right to me.

Now, the #-total-seen-in-month/#-days-in-month may be wrong because I'm doing it as #-days-at-least-one-movie-watched/#-days-in-month. The second option (in the previous sentence) makes more sense than the first -- can you explain why you want to see #-total-seen-in-month/#-days-in-month instead of the average number of days per month films were seen (which is the second option)?

I'll take care of your courier font too Posted Image

Ok, courier font is smaller, and the 1/2 star is back in the legend. "Days missed in month" for Percentage of days movies were seen has been fixed to "Days viewed in month"

The actual calculations on either percentages, I'm still need from you to give me what the actual #'s should be so I can see if/how my formula is wrong.

Thanks!

Oops, nevermind, I see exactly where the problem is -- I *thought* I had the formula calculating correctly, but I looked at the percentages for January and March, which, based on the fact that you missed 10 days in both months, should be identical, but they're not.

I'll fix that Posted Image
