Nice setup Kevin...I especially like the way you have mounted the rear surrounds within the limited space...is the middle one for 6.1 surround?
I also like the lost highway poster (one of my favorite directors) and the very funky lamp. :)

Nice setup, Kevin:
Now this method of mounting the surround speakers has me curious. I was planning to mount my rears in a similar fashion, only using a speaker like the Klipsch SS1's.
I have no option to place speakers on the sides, as my theater opens into a large area on one side. (pics to come...some time)
Do you think that 8 feet is too close together for this dispertion type of speaker? What would a third speaker in the middle sound like?
Would I be better off using direct radiating speakers, or is there a better dipole/ bipole than the Klipsch?
Would I even benifit at all from 6.1?
Thanks for adding your opinions.

You will benefit from the 6.1 over a 5.1, but it won't sound as good as it could with the speakers that close together. I'm pretty happy with my setup for the moment. Looking to upgrade my center channel and my two fronts really soon.

Thanks for the encouragement guys, it's nice to know that people can appericate a decent setup that didn't cost thousands and thousands of dollars(even though there is nothing wrong with spending that much). I'd love to see pictures of your setups. ;)

Roy--
Once again - I really like the built-in rack.

Did they give you any idea as far as maximum weight for each shelf?

Thanks,
Daryl

They did not specifically tell me how much to put on each shelf, but they are held up with those heavy steel brackets that interlock into the rails, and each shelf is made of 1/2 inch MDF, so I imagine they would hold a fair bit.
I bet a place like Home Depot could tell us the weight limit for this type of shelf. If I get over there this weekend, I will stop in and ask someone.

I just love that picture too. I have the whole set which is a vertical Marilyn, Bogie, and one of James Dean. I was told there never was an Elvis. I have to get some framed and then find room for them. I will post some pix soon.

Where did you get the prints?

EDIT: I just upgraded all my audio/video cables using the THX MONSTER CABLE SERIES. Pretty happy with the results so far.

Nice job Kevin,

I'm like you limited theater. Mine is limited on space as well as money.LOL. I am using a small un-used bedroom on the first floor of my house.

I really think you need to get some more movies. LOL, I wish I had that many.

Have a good one.

Nice set-up Kevin, there is nothing wrong with a modest system. I had a very sub-par setup for quite a while and have been improving on it little by little. My motto is do what you enjoy and enjoy what you do!
I concur on the accolades on the built rack Roy very nice, love the cable passages!

Cheers,
Matt

Yeah those are nice, but out of my price range. I'm looking to spend around $200 and need room for 340(currently)-500 dvds.
