Adcom GFA-6000. I went through the user manual and checked everything I could externally and could not find the problem. The other channels work fine. The only thing not working is the red power-on indicator light.

Anyone have any ideas what the problem might be? If so, also what the cost associated with fixing it would be. Thanks.

How did it happen? If you were changing cables or something, it might just have shorted and blown a fuse.

Did not do a thing. Just listening to music at a normal listening level (actually quite low) and suddenly there was no sound from the left speaker.

If it's a blown fuse, what are the steps I need to take to get it fixed. I'm assuming this is not something I could do.

Try some of these tests if you haven't already. First, swap the front left and right preout inputs to the amp. If the same channel doesn't work you know it is not in the preamp. Next (after swapping preout back to normal), swap out the speaker wires on the left and right speakers at the amp. This should rule out a blown speaker.

Sorry for your problem. Call or e-mail Adcom. I am going through a similar problem with a Parasound 855 with a bad input jack. They are servicing it. It sounds as if at this time it is out of the possiblity of you fixing it yourself.
