My new Controller..... (1 Viewer)

My wife thinks that I am nuts for purchasing a 99.95 plus s/h for a controller but I am a huge fan of 2D fighting games, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat..ect. It comes with a lifetime warranty and I am a believer in you get what you pay for. Does anyone here have any experiences with it?

i've got one. best thing i ever bought! i've got all the street fighters for my dreamcast plus imports like ikaruga. trust me. you'll love it.

I have the dual one for PC MAME games. It is a real treat, plus my kids can bang on it as much as they want -- it's all arcade quality buttons and construction.

The popular ones among the fighting geeks are the X-Arcade, MAS Super Pro-Stick, and the $30 Red Octane Sticks.

I will say with the exception of the Red Octane the sticks are way overpriced. You can make your own for around $20 or less. But if you're not good with woodwork and have the cash why not?

Yeah it is expensive and I wasn't aware the the 30 dollar one...but hey as long as it's the best I will fork the money over

the X-arcade sticks rule! Good purchase. Its also good to know you have a stick you can use on any console or PC out there.

Are there any plans for a Xbox Red Octane stick?

Email Red Octane, I hear they are very good about answering emails. With the recent Capcom support I wouldn't be surprised if one was coming out. Personally I'd get a PS2 stick and just get an adapter since every system has some sort of PS2 adapter for it.

eurgh. Sorry, horses for courses and all that, but the sticks are far too stiff for me. Give me the DC Arcade Stick any day, or one of Hori's models.

Ian, which stick are you referring to as too stiff? The X-Gaming, Red Octane, or MAS?

The beauty with these joysticks is that you can replace the stick with any one you want. From Happ Supers, to Perfect 360's, or Korean lolli's. It's up to you...

Sorry Dave, I meant the X-Arcade, I should have been specific.

Its a matter of taste, like I say, but the really stiff teardrop-style sticks they use aren't to my taste; I prefer the loose Hori-style (though I recognise that a clever person can change them, that slightly defeats the point).

Come to think of it, though, the 'all in a straight line' placement of the main six buttons, rather than the traditional curve that reflects the length of your fingers is a worse crime.
