OK, here is how this will work. I will ask some sort of movie or hometheater related question if you get the right answer you will receive points. The number of points that you can win will be listed with the question. Now the rules for each question may vary from question to question, ie. sometimes the answering period will be time related (anyone can answer for X amount of time) or sometimes it may be the first three correct answers receive the points or it could be some other method that I happen to think of. The whole thing will be kind of random but the rules for each round will be stated with the question.

But wait there is more. I may, if the mood strikes me, give bonus points if you post something clever or include something funny with your answer. AND I may also take points away if you should happen to piss me off or say something dumb :) or if your answer is wrong (I will not always take away points for wrong answers though).

The first person to get to 500 points will win any DVD they want from DeepdiscountDVD that is priced $15.00 or less (if you pick one of the $5.88 ones I won't complain).

This is open to anyone, no need to sign up just answer the question. I will keep a running score card in this post as points get awarded.

The first question will be coming soon. Have fun!!

I have gotten only one guess for this, I knew it was difficult but I didn't think it was that hard! You could at least try and get the funny bonus points.

[c]ROUND TWO[/c]

Trivia question this time.

What was the reason for each of the five members of The Breakfast Club to be in detention?

Bonus question: What did Carl want to be when he grew up?

Super bonus question: What was the zip code of Shermer Illinois?

The question is worth 3 points, the bonus question is worth an additional point, super bonus question is worth 2 points. You can only get the bonus question points if you answer the main question correctly.

I will leave this question up until I go to lunch tomorrow (usually around noon PST). Good luck!

Click here to send me your answer.

I can't remember John Bender's reason for being there. I think I know the bonus one, but I'd have to Google the super bonus.

Congrats to John Dhein and Eric Eickhorst both of them got all the answers correct including both bonus questions. They both get 6 points.

The correct answers are:

John Bender: False alarm
Claire Standish: Cut school to go shopping
Andrew Clarke: Taped Larry Lesters buns together
Brian Ralph (as in puke) Johnson: Brought a flare gun to school.
Allison Reynolds: Nothing, she didn't have anything better to do.

Carl wanted to be John Lennon when he grew up.

The zip code is 60062. My old zip code actually :D

Next question coming up in a minute.

I guess I didn't know the bonus after all, I thought it was astronaut. I must have watched that movie 10-15 times as a kid.

[c]ROUND FOUR[/c]

This is one is going to involve some smarts from you all, therefore it is worth 15 points. From the list below what movie should be listed next.

In case this isn't clear, here is an example.

Shakespeare in Love
American Beauty
Gladiator
Beautiful Mind, A

The answer would be Chicago because it is the next film in the list to win the Oscar for best picture.

Now to the question, what movie would be next in this list.

Léon
Immortal Beloved
The Murder in the First
Scarlet Letter
Basquiat

Click here to send me your answer

Good luck and have fun!

Congrats to Chucky P, John Dhein and Elizabeth S for getting the bonus question, the each receive five points. I meant for only one person to get this and have the answer posted here but I guess I didn't make that clear.

The answer was Quick Change, a movie that desperately needs to be released on DVD.
