I have a hk 525 and 2 pair of jbl s-38's. Do I use banana plugs or not? If so I was planning on getting the $6/pair gold plated ones at radio shack.

Obviously my goal is to get the best sound/connection for my speakers, receiver and speaker wire. Will banana plugs help me here or not?

If so is there any special trick to using them?

The best sound/connection would be bare wire tightened down and left alone. If you plan on unplugging the speakers often you may want the ban. plugs for convenience- otherwise they will not do anything for the sound.

Yeah the plugs are jsut neater and mroe convenient, either way though there should not be much a difference. you would certainly get more of a difference by using thicker speaker cables.
