I recently got my copy of Avia and a radio shack spl meter. I went through the entire Avia disk, it was great. Everything sounds just incredible now! Except for DTS. Is there a spot in Avia that I missed that helps you calibrate your DTS sound or do you just have to use your receiver's test tones. I, for now, used my test tones to setup the 5 speakers. But am still needing to make sure the sub is adjusted correctly.

Thanks for your help.

Ovation Software(makers of Avia)and Sound & Vision have a scaled down version of the Avia Guide to Home Theater disc. It has tests for dts on it as well as dts ES discrete and matrix. Perhaps try that one as well.

Cheers,

Can you post a link to the scaled down version? I can't seem to anything like that.

Thanks!

If your DTS sounds dramatically different from DD, I suspect you may have it configured incorrectly on your DVD player. You may want to check the DVD player's digital audio output config as a starting point. It should be set to bitstream, rather than PCM.

The "scaled down" version of the calibration disc is called Home Theater Tune-up.
