Is this DVD Anamorphic? Is says remastered 16x9 but I have seen that before only to find out the transfer isn't anamorphic.

It's on sale at Wal*Mart for $9.44 and I think it's a good movie.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

Mod's, please feel free to delete after confirmation, unless you guys and gals want to talk about good anamorphic Arnold movies. Posted Image I didn't know where else to ask.

While were at it, how about the new StarGate DVD, how is the transfer?

Sean, wassup my friend! Posted Image

I assume your speaking of the one that comes in the Mars case that resembles a baboons ass? If so I would think it would be anamorphic, the original dvd release of TR was not anamorphic however if that's the one you saw.

I keep meaning to pick up the new one but never seem to get around to it.

I have it myself. The SE that is. It's anamorphic Widescreen. My advise: just buy it.

Wal-Mart may not have the baboon's ass, but as long as it says SPECIAL EDITION on it and has the Arnold and Paul Verhoeven commentary, that's what you want. I don't have the Baboon's ass, I was lucky enough to get the keepcase from Wal-Mart.

Definitely the best Stargate transfer to date. Some have problems with a bit of EE, but I was pretty pleased on my Panny 53x42.

Thanks guys.

Hows it going John?

I went down to Best buy and bought Total recall (I had the choice of the baboons ass or the keepcase)I bought the keepcase because I don't know how I would store the baboons ass.

I also got StarGate UE, and that looks pretty awesome, I also got 8 Mile, it's pretty good.

I sold my old StarGate, City of Angels, Bed of Roses, Snow falling on Cedars and some cheesy WWF DVD's(3 pack) for $40 at a Pawn Shop, and was able to acquire the goodies for a total of around $40 at Best Buy (did some price matching).

I am pretty happy, thanks for your input guys. Posted Image

John, I am going to PM you and tell you about my new set up, I got a Samsung Hi def Widescreen and JVC Progressive player, and I'm in heaven.....

Now where is that UE Titanic!!? I can't wait for that.

It's funny how things go...so often people pay extra to get the SE packaging...now everybody's raving about the keepcase! I've never even seen the keepcase SE package in a store here. The tin commonly sells for $10 with the same disc; there must be tons of the tins, they've been on sale for 6 months at least...IMO still beats a snapper. I saved the cardboard thing, the baboon's ass fits tightly in it for filing.
