Is that Jayhawks disc already out on redbook? I didn't realize they had new music coming out(or already out). I was just listening to Smile today, actually.

I just checked a Jayhawks fan site, and the disc is due out on CD and LP on april 1st. There was no mention of SACD, but the initial CD and LP releases are limited editions with 5 bonus tracks.

I got the word about the Jayhawks SACD from the Universal site: Link Removed

I think that makes it (pretty much) official! :emoji_thumbsup:

I wonder if the SACD will have the bonus tracks or not? I hope so, but I guess you never know. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Hopefully their earlier work sees the light of day on SACD. I'd love to get Hollywood Town Hall on SACD.

Thanks Rich,
Nice to find a list like this without the need of searching so many sites and readding all the threads.
It's really hard to keep up with these new releases.

So Dark Side of the Moon has been pushed back again???

This is the first I've seen of the April Fool's Day schedule.

I know this has been asked before, but I thought I'd bring it up again. Is Rebecca Pidgeon's Retrospective a totally new album or a "best of" as the title would imply? I wish Chesky would hurry up and release The New York Girls' Club and The Four Marys on SACD!

Great list, Emil! I hadn't realized that "Avalon" was also coming out. I think I'll expand my list in the first post to include all these (plus anymore that get listed in this thread).

Didn't I hear that MoFi will be doing "Cat Scratch Fever"? Geez, that takes me back to elementary school days!

The various music studio websites, Brian Moura's, High Fidelity Review, etc. All over really!

BTW, this isn't an attempt to track every new release on SACD, though I'd be game to give it a shot. I just started with the titles I was interested in buying, added those listed by Emil, plus a few more I discovered today... not bad, but not comprehensive either.

I'm tempted to list which are hybrids for those without SACD players, as well as which contain multichannel mixes...

I'm extremely excitied about the Pink Floyd (with remix reservations), Steely Dan, and the new Peter Gabriel release. I'm very disappointed that the other Gabriel discs are not hybrid, and I'm not sure what I'm going to do about that yet.

My concern with The Kinks is that I hear Ray Davies doesn't allow the original masters out of his studio. I also think the earlier albums like 'Arthur', 'Village Green', and 'Something Else' are the crucial material. I'll probably pass on these for now.

I'm only buying the Dylan discs if they include the original mono. It will be inexcusable if they do not.

Other purchases for me include King Crimson (though I bet it isn't out on time), Penguin Cafe Orchestra, John Lee Hooker, and Coltrane.

It's a good-looking schedule and I wouldn't mind a delay or two so that my wallet can keep up.

Bingo...hit the nail on the head there. The reason I asked for SACD links for news is that in the past, there was maybe one release every other month I got excited about. Now, the numerous releases coming up tell me that 1) SACD is starting to grab hold in enough homes to justify the increased release schedule and 2) I have to be careful not to miss any HAVE TO HAVE releases because they could easily get obscured with the wealth of news surrounding what's coming out.

Michael, I'm not sure, but I believe the European releases may be hybrids.

BTW, I put those "???" next to the release dates that are seemingly anomalous (not Tuesdays!).

Yeah, but they are going to cost about 30 bucks shipped to the US; for that price you can buy the non-hybrid and the redbook. But I'm not going to assume that the redbook layer will be identical to the remastered CDs from 2002. Plus, it's nice to have the shelf savings.

I am confused as to why some fairly high-profile releases like The Police and PG are not hybrid in the USA. I thought single-inventory was the new trend.

If dvd-audio or sacd don't start releasing a lot more NEW material very soon (like, this year), I'm giving up hope on them. And by "new" I mean from around 1995 to the present.

This constant outpouring of dusty classics people have heard fifty million times (especially sacd's) is getting really boring.

Yep, someone of those are on Mondays because they are Europe release dates (Spandau Ballet, Deep Purple), or they come from Elusive disc (Johnny Cash). I will be that the Cash date is wrong.

The List is looking good. I updated my post to include both Hybrid and Multi-Channel (M/C) info.
