None of the above...

My favorite: Unbreakable, because I define 'comic book movie' at bit more broadly.

The ones that I've liked:

1) Superman
2) The Rocketeer (the most faithful in "feel" of all comic book adaptations)
3) The Shadow
4) Superman 2
5) Batman Returns
6) X-Men
7) Men in Black (WAY better than the comic)
8) The Mask
9) Spiderman
10) Batman
11) The Crow (solid film; I just wasn't ever a fan of the character...)
12) The Phantom (so sue me; I enjoyed it)
13) Daredevil (by far my favorite super-hero; don't feel they did him justice)

Not a film, but the Flash TV show was better than half of these films...

I'd call Unbreakable a Super-hero movie, but not necessarily a comic book movie. If I counted it, it'd be in the top 5 for sure.

1) Batman Returns
2) Batman (1989)
3) Spider-Man
4) Superman
5) X-Men
6) Superman II

While I liked Blade and Men In Black a lot, I left them off the list just because I never read the comics on which they were based. Yeah, that's an arbitrary distinction that I made up on my own, but it seems more sensible to only choose flicks whose source material I knew...

thinking in terms of spandex here :D

1. Superman The Movie - not my fav comic as a kid but the movie is a class act.
2. Batman Returns - very underrated IMO
3. X-Men - fav comic as a kid
4. Batman 1989
5. Spider-man - (soft spot) 2nd fav comic as a kid.
6. Blade - a little better than average
7. Superman 2 - had potential

Others I'd rank highly but don't qualify

Conan The Barbarian - was based on the original RE Howard short stories not the comic book
Robocop - comic-book like but based on no actual comic
Darkman - see above
Unbreakable - ditto
Road To Perdition - no spandex! ;)

1. Superman/Superman II don't feel like deciding
2. Batman
3. The Crow
4. Batman Returns
5. X-Men
6. Blade
7. Spiderman

If Unbreakable was based on a comic, it would be #4.

WORST COMIC MOVIE EVER

Judge Dredd

Comic Movie's I would most like to see, but only if they're done well (of course)

Grendel
Dr. Strange
Hellblazer (though from what I've heard, it has high suckability potential)
Weird War
Groo could be a cool if someone like Terry Gilliam directed

spandex

Superman the movie -it will be very hard for any movie to surpass this one for me, seeing it as a kid on the big screen, the great johnny Willams score, and the witty and reverent script- a class act all the way
but close behind is

X-men - a film i find narratively stronger and stronger everytime i see it, and blessed with some wonderful actors
who take the material seriously.
from the looks of it, the sequel should be just as good if not better (i don't want to get my hopes up too much, i felt seriously burned by Superman II)

Spider-man -had been #2, but further viewings have pointed out some debilitating weaknesses to me now ( most notably the lack of chemistry between Dunst and Maguire, and a far less frightening than it should have been incarnation of GG)

The Rocketeer-very good adaptation of the source, although i have to wonder whether being produced by Disney was a help or hinderence.

non-spandex

Ghost world- watched his for the second time this morning and loved it even more.

although i'm a lifelong comic book geek, after these i've hated just about every other comic book film.

Superman: The Movie is by far the greatest comic book movie ever. EVERYTHING fell into place just right into this movie. Sure, the ending is irrational...but since when do comic books have to have rational endings?

Spider-Man is a good movie, too. It's a shame they killed off the villan in the first movie, but it's still fun. Batman is only OK...and the sequels are unwatchable. Batman & Robin should have been on Mystery Science Theater 3000's series finale, so it would give an excuse for Mike & The Bots to commit suicide.
