I noticed a large display of DVDs for $5.88 at my local WalMart - I think I saw at least 20 different titles, maybe more. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly what they were...my memory fails me. There was a crowd of people going through them...so you may want to act fast to take advantage of this.

Purchased several decent DVDs at Wal-Mart for 5.88, including Diner, Night Shift, Norma Rae, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Singles, and 2 Days in the Valley. Definitely worth a look.

Thanks for the titles, Mark. I definitely would have purchased Singles if I saw it...but it wasn't at the store I was in.

I would put every title I've seen in those bins on my "no thanks i don't care if you're giving them away" list.

My personal find in the bin was Local Hero for $5.00. In a poll conducted in 1990 by Premiere Magazine and film notable film critics at that time, Local Hero was selected at the #10 film (tied with Terms of Endearment) of the decade of the 80s. Their Top 10 was:
1. Raging Bull
2. Wings of Desire
3. E.T The Extra-Terrestrial
4. Blue Velvet
5t Hannah and Her Sisters
5t Platoon
6. Fanny and Alexander
7t Shoah
7t Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
8. Do the Right Thing
9. The Road Warrior
10 Local Hero and Terms of Endearment

My Walmart $5.88 find was The Ice Storm. Other than this title there wasn't much. Someone else mentioned finding The Beast in this category there but I was unsuccessful. Ended up getting it at Best Buy for $7.99.

I would definitely get both Singles and The Ice Storm but I haven't seen either one. I may have to venture to the second Wal-Mart again for a look. Actually there is a third not far away.

Dave Mack, The closest store to NYC is in Saddlebrook N.J. and it's about 13 miles from lower Manhattan. If you got a car, definetly worth the drive.

"Jeff, was the Rambo First Blood the one with DTS?"

I can answer that one since I bought both Part II & III the other week. All 3 have DTS.
