I was under the impression that the exclusion of the Star Wars and Star Trek movies was to give this tourney a more even playing field, right? If that's the case, I feel that 2001 should be excluded as well.

Ric, is that a nom for ID4?

Mike, PITCH BLACK is already in automatically.

In the THE BLOB remake, which is one of my favorite films, the creature is government made. Should I still include it, or not?

Steve, I don't have a problem with THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL being included.

Erik, I agree about 2001, and its not 100% what I was looking for, but I won't get rid of it unless some more people wish it out, because I don't want to piss anyone off.

You won't piss me off, but it does clearly fit the criteria.

I'd also like to nominate Solaris (1971)
