yamaha yst-sw150 subwoofer worth it or not $9.00 ! (1 Viewer)

i just picked up a mint condition yamaha yst-sw150 active servo processing subwoofer system ( thats a mouth full ) for $9.00 at the local thrift store.

currently my receiver and sub ( 120w) is just a sony 6.1 htib model ..i think retailed for $499.00 ....

having hooked this yamaha up , it clearly is more impressive than the sony, and of course looks cool !

have i stepped up the ladder in subs....just wondering apart from the steal of a price , is this unit a good move ?

and any idea how to set it up properly ?....

The YST-SW150 is likely a big upgrade from the Sony HTIB sub. It's a $399 (retail) sub...

thanks scott...thats cheered me up even more ....i always thought the sony sounded great, but seems a almost dead compared to the yamaha...
