Many of us are not the target audience for these remakes. These films are being made for those that probably haven't even watched the originals and in many cases, not even heard of them. Don't you guys feel old? Your demographic group is being ignored by the studios.

You must be an older 22.;)

Yes, I do - thank God! Imagine if new garbage like this were the types of movies and television programs I'd be exposed to for the first time! :D

Shawn, that was sort of my point. The film did play well and I think was more an homage to the original (and Buddy Ebsen's cameo was priceless). Cloris Leachman was a fitting Granny, newcomer Diedrich Bader was (looking back) a competent Jethro (and would go on to bigger things in The Drew Carey Show), Lily Tomlin was a respectable Miss Hathaway and the late Jim Varney did a fine turn as Jed. It did, however, effectively set off the disturbing trend.

I think I'll rephrase my previous post:

The Beverly Hillbillies is starting to look like the Citizen Kane...of movie remakes...
