Disclaimer: Boy, do I hate threads like these....but it's not like my friends know anything about this stuff.
    ------------------------------------------------------

    What I gots:
    -Monitor Audio Silver S8 floorstanders.
    -Frequency Response +/- 3dB: 35Hz- 30KHz.
    -Sensitivity (1W@1M) 91dB.
    -Nominal Impedance(Ohms) 6.
    -Power Handling RMS(W) 175.
    -2 x 6" Bass mid-range, 1 X 6" mid-range...the 1" some-kind-of-metal tweeter also came with, no extra charge.

    What I dids:
-Sold that NAD T761 AVR, sold it real good. Bye bye.

    What I needs:
    -Integrated amp to complement.
    -I'd like at least 80W x 2 (sensitive, but 6 ohms).
-The S8 can get bright alright.
-Wanna bring out the detail, but not at the expense of bleeding ear-drums.

    Budget:
    -$650 real US dollars.

    Considering:
    -New Jolida 1501
    -Used Classe CAP 80 / 100
-Used Parasound (don't have a model in mind)
-Used Musical Fidelity (any will do!)

Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Well with that budget I would look at a used integrated amp. Sim Audio, Arcam, Unison, and Creek all make integrateds that might give you the sound you are looking for. Good luck with whatever you choose.

    Thanks, Scott.

I heard many good things about Sim Audio, but it is quite expensive...even used. Heard Classe is a good starting point to higher-end electronics, perhaps lesser known, but a good all rounder nonetheless.

My sources have told me to stay away from lower-end Parasound...they are cheaper...anyone have experience with this company?

The Jolida hybrid seems enticing, a great value some would say, and Musical Fidelity seems to be well respected, but also expensive.

Anyone else with comments? What about all you M-A owners?
