Directors what would you watch at my house? (1 Viewer)

When people come over to watch a movie at my house, I provide them with a 1 page menu to select a film from. I can't get the formatting right to replicate it here, but it provides basic information about each film (title, color/b&w, year, actors, time, etc.)

I try to provide a variety of films to choose from, and even though the people who come over have very different tastes in film, I've yet to find anyone who didn't find at least 1 movie on the list they'd like to see.

But of course, you guys might be different.

Anyway, I was just curious which (if any) of the films you'd pick if I invited you over. The following is the menu (titles only) that I would create if you came over today:

I'd pick either Marnie, Contact or The Circus...but I don't think your menu is quite as varied as you might think it is.

Well, as I said I limit it to a single page, and focus mostly on films in my collection I haven't seen in a long time. So, in this case there weren't any foreign films, but that doesn't mean they won't show up as options at a later date. Obviously there are lots of films that would never show up since they aren't in my collection, but you'd be hard pressed to pick a genre or a time period that wouldn't show up at some point. As I said, although it's clear that some here would never want to come to my house to watch a film, I've never had trouble with anyone picking a film - the last one chosen was Vertigo.

If my wife was along we'd have to watch A Very Brady Sequel, but that would be ok too.

I started to answer like Jim K, but that methodology left me with to many to choose from so I will eliminate the own its and the good reason I don't own its and choose from the rest. I would choose True Lies or Dead Men Don't wear Plaid... Both I have seen and enjoyed but do not own..Depending on Kaplan's gear, i would pick one or the other.

Since Kaplan was gracious enough to invite me, I wouldn't want to risk a good time with an expermiment on a new film, I haven't seen. Of course, as a gracious guest, I would defer to our host...

So what would Kaplan choose if we all said "Gee, I don't know whatever you want to watch, George"
