In connecting a subwoofer what is it I need to look for in a cable should it be rg6, rg59 does it make a difference? any particular brand? If the sub has two RCA connections do I need to get a Y adapter to connect to AV? or connecting just one RCA fine? What is the best way to hook it up. responses would be greatly appreciated.

It needs to be shielded. Video cables work. I use RG-6 with F to RCA adapters. If you don't have one, then buy one from Monoprice. Y adapters are not necessary. It is redundant. You split a single signal into 2 and just inside the plate amp, the 2 inputs are combined. If you are like me and use a pro amp, then it may be necessary. I use one because I run my amp in stereo mode with each channel powering a 15" sub.
