Wow. You'll have to let us know which ones are the best after you try them out. I've got two downloaded at the moment. Yep, just two for the time being. I'm sure that number will go up. Still waiting for 2.0 though.

Make that 46, just got iPint for free =)

I did notice that a new Terms and Conditions was required, but that was when I tried downloading iPint, not sure if there is a connection or if 2.0 is really close

Sam,

First of all, check your voicemail, will yuh? :)

Second of all, how much did you spend total?

Are most apps free?

What is the average cost of the apps.

I'm looking through the app store now, isn't there a themer?
I'd love just to be able to change things around like on an unlocked phone.

I'd be curious to hear about PocketPedia and your impressions of it. I'm considering a move to the Pedia line and this intrigues me.

I'm being conservative and waiting for the official release of 2.0 through iTunes, but I've already identified the following I'm going to get:

1Password (when it becomes available later this month)
Advent (nostalgia, baby)
Box Office
eBay
Movies.app
NetNewsWire
OmniFocus
PocketPedia
Remote
Super Monkey Ball (It's got monkeys. It's got balls. It's super!!)
Twitterrific

I am very impressed with the selection of apps available on Day 1. Overnight the iPhone has become a killer mobile platform.

iTunes is having a hell of a time downloading these apps.

I get time-outs across the board. Everybody is hitting the
server at once.

I've been dl'ing apps directly from the on-phone AppStore with no problems. Wonder if that's run from a different server farm?? The iTunes Store is so hosed with the activations (both new & upgrades) that it makes sense to stay away for awhile.

OK, Apple's free Remote may be THE killer app of the first wave - assuming you have your iTunes library shared on your home LAN along with one or more Airport Expresses/Apple TVs set up as remote speakers.

Download Remote, then try this:

* Attach Remote to your iTunes library
* Find some music and start it playing
* Walk around your house into the rooms where you have your remote speakers set up, turning them on as you enter, and off as you leave.

Your music follows you around the house with just a couple of taps on your iPhone!! Suh-weeeeeeet!!!

The performance on Remote is excellent. I have a HUGE iTunes library (over 33,500 items), and response was quite snappy navigating through the tunes over my WiFi G LAN. There is a few seconds delay activating each remote speaker - no biggie. Also, Remote contains full library search (still oddly missing from ATV), which allows you to find any song in your library in seconds.

This is SO cool I've pretty much decided then when I do upgrade to a new iPhone, I'll keep this one as a dedicated whole house music remote.
