First off I would like to say my wife and I just bought a house. I am still in school and money is tight but we are huge movie fanatics and where sick of spending $40 bucks a pop to go the the movies when we can just wait for red box movies.
I wanted to build a home theater in our basement with keeping the whole thing around a $1000 dollars. Most would say its impossible but I think I did pretty good. What does everyone think.
First off is the center piece
I got a Acer H6510BD DLP 1080p projector on Newegg for $630

For the Audio I got a Yamaha 5.1 System at Best Buy. It was a home theater in a box, but it came with a true receiver and none of the proprietary bullshit. It has 4 hdmi inputs and 1 output so wiring will be easy. (Good discount) $275

I got a 92" Projector screen of eBay for $$65 (this may be my weakest link but i figured it would be better then nothing.)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300752550544
Hardware and Cables (ex mount, speaker mounts, speaker wire, surge protector, etc) $50
Total Cost ~$1020
I already own a HTPC with a blu-ray drive and tv tuner with Windows Media center that will be my main source.
I plan on ceiling the mounting the projector and it is a relatively small room. We will sit approx 9 feet from the screen.
I haven't set it up yet as I just am getting the projector today hopefully, but what does everyone think of this budget setup.
