si is the UPC 043396-787193 the Fullscreen or Widescreen version? According to dvdpricesearch.com its the widescreen.

Yes, it definitely is the UPC for the widescreen release; however, it's still quite possible that Columbia/Tri-Star continued to use that same UPC for the altered Fullscreen version, so you may not be out of the woods yet...

I think there may be an international cut too - I read a review which described a very differently edited opening than my R2 UK disc. (which begins with a "Mary Shelley" voiceover as the titles swoop past and then we got the scene in the Arctic)
