I'm sure no-one saw this coming :)
I searched the forum for a "greatest Western's" list and went back as far as '05 and didn't see any, so I guess with the Yuma and Jesse James buzz, it's good timing.
Let's see your top 10. I'm on a Western kick, so I am hoping this brings out some films I have yet to see. I'll give my personal favorites later.

Neat idea, but it should be in the Polls section. It is a poll afterall.
Meanwhile, I only have a couple minutes, but here's a start.
Once Upon a Time in the West
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
The Claim
Unforgiven
The Proposition
(I think it qualifies)
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
A Fistful of Dollars
For a Few Dollars More
High Plains Drifter
McCabe and Mrs. Miller

That's about my best shot, without actually thinking about it.

Not the biggest fan of the genre, but The Good The Bad and the Ugly is one of my favorite films of any genre. I am not sure I can call the following "favorites" as I've only watched them once or twice, but they are the best westerns I have seen in recent years:

For a Few Dollars More

High Noon

Stagecoach

Dances with Wolves

The rest is either too remote (Magnificent Seven and many others), enjoyable but not favs (Unforgiven, Liberty Valence, Fistful, Butch Cassidy...) or just plain sucked (Searchers and many others...)
