The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain!
If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

--Dark Blue: Season 1 (staring Dylan McDermott) is available this week as an exclusive on-line purchase at either wbshop.com and tnt.tv for $24.99 as part of Warner's MOD program.

Happy 4th!!!

I'm all over renting The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo after all the buzz about the books (which I am STILL trying to get from the library!)

Otherwise, nada!

Happy Fourth, everybody! Nothing for me this week. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo was very well done, but not the sort of movie I want to watch again and again.

What fireworks display (if any) did you go to, Mike? I love the Empire State Plaza show that Price Chopper puts on every year, even though parking downtown for it is an absolute nightmare, but this year I met a friend in Manchester, VT for a day of fun at Bromley Mountain. Afterward we caught the fireworks at Bennington, VT which were a little less sophisticated but very well done. And parking was only half as nightmarish as the Plaza. I've also caught the show at Old Forge, which was very enjoyable too.

Target's perpetual sale price of those particular Blu's is annoying! Or I find it so, anyhow.

Anyone who has an Ultimate Electronics in their area (at least, here in Colorado) they are having a nice 2 for $15 Blu-Ray sale. Most of the titles are currently on sale at Amazon for $12 each. After saying I wasn't going to jump in and double dip a bunch of BR titles, I got...

A History of Violence

12 Monkeys

Pride & Prejudice (Knightley 2005)

Atonement

Shaun of the Dead

Unforgiven

There are about 30 or 40 titles.

At the Boulder Ultimate Electronics, the 2 for $15 was more limited. It included what is named above, plus

Watchmen Motion Comic

Million Dollar Baby

and a couple others. I couldn't find anything to pair with 12 Monkeys, myself.

On a barely-related note, my local Borders got in a case of True Bloods! Same drink as Best Buy had a month ago. It was six or seven bucks. Found them in the Charlaine Harris section of the books.

I got a second one, having picked one up at Best Buy previously. As before I did the OCD thing of looking for one with the label aligned as close as possible to the raised lettering on the bottle itself.

I was half expecting something like that to happen, or for them to be sold out. Once I got back home, I realized not all the titles in the ad were on the sale display, but they should have all been on sale. I did notice several more copies of Atonement on the shelf in its regular spot. So, you may have to search out any other titles you want. I think the sale banner (really, just a laser printed page) listed all the sale titles.

The fact is, that place gives me the creeps. I'm not sure what it is, but they seem sleazy. This is the first time I have bought anything from them. Their regular prices are astronomical, despite their constant advertising of having the lowest prices, "always".

I have never seen the movie Jimmy Hollywood, but I purchased a used copy of the soundtrack years ago because it had the a copala version of After The Goldrush by Prelude. I might rent the BD version just to see what the movie is like.
