The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain!
If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

Muppets and the US Dragon Tattoo remake are both definite rentals when they make it to the Redbox, but no purchases for me this week. Thanks as always Mike. I hope they haven't been any new health crises since last week. Keep on keepin' on.

Thanks Mike! Carnage is tempting, but I'll wait for a sale. Muppets for the wife and I and Hop for the kids. I have never seen Lady for a Day, but I had the opportunity to talk to Bruce who is making it the debut release of his new label and he told me:

The good people at Advanced Digital Services in Hollywood did an amazing job restoring it considering what we had to work with.. We put a before and after comparison on the blu-ray and dvd and also put it up on youtube.

The last dvd release was missing a 4 1/2 minute section so this is the first time the film has been released complete on a current home video disc format. It will also be up on itunes. I think it's one of Capra's best films.
Here is the video he was referring to:

Unfortunately the original negative no longer exists, but a Capra had a dup made in the late 70s for his personal collection. That was the starting point for this release.

That's an interesting video, Adam. Lady for a Day intrigues me. Didn't love the Muppets. And, I haven't even watched the "foreign" Girl films yet...so I think I'll wait a bit on the US Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. So...nothing for me this week...except maybe Lady for a Day.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo was my favorite movie of last year (which probably says all types of dark things about me) so I'll be picking that up. And from the opposite end of the spectrum, The Muppets was a favorite of mine last year too so I may pick that up. Thanks for the prices and hope you feel better, Mike! :)

Thanks, as always, for the roundup, Mike! Look forward to checking it out each week. Hope your health is looking up. Regarding The Muppets, I see a dvd + soundtrack also listed on Best Buy's website for $24.99. And looks like if you don't get the lunchbox blu-ray combo at Best Buy, they might try to gouge you on the price as the 3 disc version is listed at $34.99 without the lunchbox on their website vs the $27.99 with lunchbox.

Thanks for the RoundUp, Mike. Always helpful and interesting.

I'm supposed to review The Sitter, but it hasn't arrived yet so that review should go up at some point this week.

Definitely getting The Muppets and Hop this week. Also, did anyone see that Best Buy has an exclusive of The Ring this week? Check it out here. For $12.99, it would be a steal :D Thanks again for the roundup this week Mike. I hope things health-wise are getting better for you.

I haven't seen Despicable Me With the goggles at target since it was released last year. Actually I have bnever seen the version with the goggles on a shelf in any target so I wonder if they will be doing a restock on this for the sale.

Actually saw the version with goggles last week at a Target near me, but thought something was off about the goggles. Well, after examining the goggles package I purchased when the film first came out, it looks like Target is now putting a cheaper version in their exclusive packaging. In the original version I have, the goggles are made of a hard plastic, but the version I saw at Target the other day has goggles that are just made of cardboard. So, the quality of the goggles is definitely not as good as the original version.

I just got back from Best Buy with my Muppet's Lunch Box and I just wanted to let anyone who's interested know how it went. I got there about twenty after 10, when the store opened. The display for the Muppet movie was right up front, and there was three Lunch Boxes left in that display and I got one. Then I noticed that there was another display just a short distance away, and there were three more Lunch Boxes on top of that display. So if you're looking for this Lunch Box in your Best Buy store, try looking around, because there's probably more than one display for them. I don't know if they had more in the back I didn't see any sales people around to ask. I used my Disney Movie Rewards coupon, and I had a $5 Reward Zone coupon. They took both coupons with no problems. We used our Best Buy credit card and got double points. Sweet deal ! Bill

My experience was not as smooth. They had atleastten lunch boxes. Took one up to buy it. Register person got out her magnifying glass and started going over the copon. She decided it wouldn't work with the lunch box. I pointed out that side the box is the same exact disc that the coupons intended for. Nope. She left to ask and she came back and said the girl overin the DVD section said it isn't good for the lunch box version. So I said who is the DVD girl to say. She's the same as you, is there a manager? Manager came over and introduced himself. He was very friendly and let me explain the coupon. He was nice enough about it and let me get the discount. Ugh.
